Can Not Configure Shipping

I have some products that use a flat rate of $11 for shipping.

I have some products that I offer free shipping.

Here is the issue:

1. How do I get the products to charge for shipping - my flat rate of $11

2. How do I not charge a person the $11 if I want that product to be Free Shipping.

I have uninstalled and installed the modules - Free shipping, Flat Rate - it does not matter.

Either they do not show any shipping at checkout or it wants to charge the $11 fee.

I can edit php with the best of them and my database...

So - can someone tell me the steps to take to:

1. Charge a flat rate of $11 for my items - no matter if they order 1 item or 100 items.

2. Allow for free shipping on the products I choose.

Thank you.

the items that have free shipping - make them weigh 0.00

have the shipping calculated on the weight of the item, perhaps make these items weigh 3.00 while setting the shipping cost for 3.00 - $11

So - which modules do I need to install - any?

Any code edits?

from what you know, do you think it would be neccessary to download additional modules? maybe edit some code? what do you think?

Thank you - yes, I have already downloaded that and tried it -

The issue is trying to get both shipping methods to work...

For instance - you buy something that is FREE SHIPPING and then also buy something that is charged the flat rate shipping ($11.00) the cart does not know what to do - it says everything is free.

Or, it jus skips the shipping checkout part all together.
