USPS Changes do I need to do anything?

Hi,

I'm sure of others of you got the email from the usps about the secure sockets layer changing.

"As of September 30, 2006, you will be required to communicate via https://, instead of http://, for a total of 46 USPS Web Tools APIs. This change will also require you to change the Web Tools server called from production.shippingapis.com to secure.shippingapis.com. "

I logged into my admin panel and clicked on shipping modules, but I didn't see an option to change this.

My question is, do I need to do anything? Or will it automatcially be done?

Thanks for your help.

I am wondering the same thing. I see code were this should be changed but it's not 100% clear in the code as the http: is missing here is the code in the USPS,php module. Also not sure if there are more places to change.

switch (MODULE_SHIPPING_USPS_SERVER) {

case 'production': $usps_server = 'production.shippingapis.com';

$api_dll = 'shippingapi.dll';

If you are using the standard module, there is no need to change anything. The API's used for rate quotes are not affected by the USPS change.
