Changing Email Subject From Order Process

Recommended Posts

Everyone here may already know this, but I tried for weeks to figure this out! :-"

To change the email subject that goes to your customers when they place an order

to make it say something else instead of just Order Process -

Open catalog/includes/languages/english/checkout_process.php

and find where it says

define('EMAIL_TEXT_SUBJECT', 'Order Process');

and simply change it to something like

define('EMAIL_TEXT_SUBJECT', 'Thank You For Your Order');

Or whatever you would like it to say.

Be sure if you use any apostrophes in your subject line to include a backslash to look like this

define('EMAIL_TEXT_SUBJECT', 'Your Dawn\'s Diapers Order');

If there is anything anyone should know before doing this trick, please let me know, but it works fine for me.

Following on the same thread does anyone know how to put comments in the body of the initial Order Process email. I recieved such an email from a company which uses osCommerce and they had a Thank You Note printed between their Company Name and the Order Number.
