The e-commerce.

Google has indexed my session key!

Recommended Posts

I have a problem with customers coming into my web site and loging in on top of each other. So some orders are now corrupt. I think that I have located the source of the problem and it seems to be that Google has indexed many of my web pages with the osCsid session tag embedded in the link code.

I need to stop this from happening quickly, is there any short term fix for forcing any customer who comes from Google source to have a new session ID allocated when they click through to my web site.

Longer term I need to stop google from indexing the session ID but my version of OSCommerce does not have any option to kill spider sessions through the admin panel. Can anyone help me out with some advice?

Thanks in advance,

You should have a setting in your admen configuration settings. Prevent spider sesions should be set to true.

I don't have this in my config settings, just the following:

Session Directory /tmp

Force Cookie Use False

Check SSL Session ID True

Nothing else?

Best regs, Simon
