Where to put my SSL certificate?

By one address it means that domain.com is a different place than www.domain.com. Choose and then 301 redirect from the other.

 

If you are using someone (eg paypal) to collect payments then they'll usually have their own cert. installed.

So if I'm using Paypal Website Payments Pro, do I still have to get an SSL certificate from another company?

Just install it and enable it in your configure file. The oscommerce code will handle when to use it. And even though your payment processor might have ssl, that won't cover your customers data when they create an account so you need the certificate regardless.
