JPLewis
I'm getting the classic USPS error message: An error occured with the USPS shipping calculations. If you prefer to use USPS as your shipping method, please contact the store owner. I have scoured this forum for 3 days now and not located the answer. I have a USPS Webtools account. I emailed USPS and I am on the "production" server. I modified my cart to remove the word "test". I have my ZIP code set in Admin/Configuration/Shipping I have my account number in Admin/Modules/Shipping. I am told that USPS does not use a password; others here have said leave it blank, USPS says the password field is irrelevant. My product has a tare weight and a product weight. I have no conflicting shipping contributions installed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the USPS shipping module. I have no other shipping methods enabled. I have cleared my cache. I have reinstalled my SQL databae. I have threatened my family with a cruel and senseless murder/suicide plan if I can't figure this out soon. Any help offered would be greatly appreciated. sanityescapesme
I too am at this impasse. Have also tried most of the 'fixes' you listed. As the USPS calculates shipping according to weight would the way we entered the weight values for each product have anything to do with it? I read in the documentation online that the default weight is in kgs as well as a procedure to switch a cart over to pounds. http://www.oscommerce.info/kb/osCommerce/A...ocalization/241 My version (the lateset that I know of) does not include this Weight class module, although I was able to enter a weight for each item. Reaching at straws here perhaps.... Any insight from anyone?

JPLewis
Found this info on another forum: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=85982 Yes, I read that thread too... I'm out of ideas. Next step is to wipe out my site and start over. If you find a solution, please post it here... someone will come after us with the same issue, I'm sure... JPLewis
I just called USPS and asked them to "reset" me.... still no success. I noticed that the address to their server was upper and lower case, so I also tried pasting that into my USPS.php file in the event it is case-sensitive... no luck there. Sweet Jesus, I don't want to reinstall this... any other possible suggestions...? Anyone...?

tacklady
USPS had told me to make the password "password" and it has worked for me. Seems simple enough, but you could give it a try. HTH Lanie
Guest
I just went through the same problems..... I Called USPS at 1-800-344-7779 (7:00AM to 11:00PM ET) told them I has running OSCommerce and they said no problem. They instantly activated my production server account and I was instantly getting quotes... I was running a heavily moded site with a fresh install of USPSMethods 2.8 . YOU DO NOT NEED A PASSWORD.......BE SURE TO DELETE THE WORD "NONE" OUT OF THE PASSWORD COMMENT SECTION TO BE SAFE.

JP I just went through the same thing. After several phone calls to USPS it was discovered that they never switched us to the production server, even though they said they did several times. Once they actually switched us, everything worked fine
