Register_globals : NOT ALLOWED

For security reasons, our SysAdmin has been asking to disable Register_Globals.

This seems to be a setting put aside for the last 2 years.

He wonders how osCommerce still uses this setting.

Do you know how to have osCommerce still working while disabling Register_globals ?

If no solution found to this issue, we shall most probably put osCommerce aside ! :'(

Thanks in advance for your feedback and help.

You could have it disabled in the PHP.ini file but enabled in the .htaccess file....

Because when osCommerce was written (MS2 was released in 2003) Register Globals was not an issue.

If you install the Register Globals patch and turn off Register Globals then be aware that most osCommerce contributions are not written to work with Register Globals off in php.ini (or in a .htaccess file).
