Chris Smith Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 I have purchased a SSL and when making the CSR I removed the WWW from the address incase it was dropped, however when someone enters the site with http://www.personaliseyorgift.com the SSL secure site seal says Invalid certificate, the site is secure but from the customers point of view it does not look very good. Is there a way that when a customer enters the site the WWW is automatically droped and so becomes http://personaliseyourgift.com Thanks Chris :)
digbydo Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 www.summat.ext is a subdomain of summat.ext ... same way as this is www.oscommerce.com/forums = forums is a subdomain. you can only have a certificate for summat either with or without the subdomain (in your case www.) unless you get a cert for both.... or you can adjust your dns records. Your host may do this for you or you can play with .htaccess and a (guess 303) redirect... sorry it's a bit late here and Mondays are always a boom town rats song ;) hope this pointed you somewhere that'll fix it. Digs one-click installation.. Dave's info
