How do I bypass product detail

My Questions is : How do I bypass product detail when clicking a product image and instead click and open the enlarged image popup?

 

I installed, and finally got set up, the Simple Template System but am willing to find an easier way if it's there.

 

DETAILS: I am setting up a page that beings just the category into a Frame. This is done from another Frame/menu.

 

The Menu (frame) will list the Category's and the category frame will display thumbs of all the products in Cat chosen from the Menu frame.

 

To see what I mean, click here. The light grey area on the left is where the Menu frame will be. The dark grey area on the right is where I wish to display Cat_a, Cat_b et ectera as selcted from the Menu on the light grey area.

 

Naturally, I want to lose everything OS has in the default layout and keep only the part that displays product Image, Name, Price, Buy. I will make the Buy icon much smaller.

 

I hoped to place 4 Thumbs across with Name/Price/Buy underneath each image.

 

I have a long way to go yet. Help is appreciated.
