Category in place on new products

Greetings

 

Did a search but didn't find exactly what I was after so my apologise if this query is self evident.

 

Anyway is anyone aware of a template which has the category names and icons showing on the index page as opposed to the new products icons and names.

 

A free template would be preferred but any ideas or contributions that would do this would be great.

Do a search in the contribution section for "main categories", it should come up.
