How to add a Log In box (like this example)

I found a site using osCommerce from the gallery and was wondering how to do this, I like it a lot.

Over in the right column there is a spot to Login, which is nicer than the Welcom Guest, login or create an account.

 

I would love to find out how to do that, can't find anything in the docs or Knowledge Base about it.
