The best way to configure ?

Hi all!

I'm new to OSC and so far it's been going great

I'm trying to think ahead and figure out how to set up everything. Here is an online example of what I would like to do:

http://www.lucyart.co.uk/photo2canvas1.php

Where the customer selects the frame size, canvas size, style etc. on each page individually and at the "finish" the cost is calculated and can be added to the cart.

Does anyone know of any contributions or what would be a good way to set this up. I don't know PHP but I definately have been getting used to how things are set up.

I originally had this set up under "categories" but I don't think that will work.

Any help is appreciated :)

Thanks!

That's a custom coded php site. It's like a breadcrumb trail, depending on what you select on one page you get a list of options on another page, which sends you to another page - with each option having a price which is added to as you go along.

I've seen another site which uses something called Frame It, which works in a similar (but better) way, and that's custom coded too.

To get something like that you'd have to pay for someone to write it for you, or you could approach the company that wrote that site and see what they'd charge.

Thanks for the fast reply Vger!

Well....lol

What if I wanted to learn how to write a code like that? Would I start on PHPs site with breadcrumb trails? :o)

Can anyone suggest any books or a good place to start learning PHP? Especially focusing on ecommerce :D

I should add I know HTML, XHTML, CSS, XML and JavaScript so I'm not completely new to coding, just new to PHP.

Thanks for any help.
