Guest
Hi I'm new here, so a little wave from the UK! :) Have just started with OSC and it seems a cool little package, but I need to add a PLUGIN/PATCH so that we can have more than 1 image for all our products. I found something on the OSC site from a 'developer' which looks like just the thing... link here... but am struggling at the first hurdle. After downloading the V1.4 files i read the instructions and am told to "Run the following SQL statement in whatever program you use to access your OSC database" This is WAAAAAAAY over my head :( Can anyone help? I have no php sql experience at all. Have managed to 'edit' the store layout fine... but have been using the OSC manual and my css html knowledge for that. If it's any help, I didnt instal OSC myself... it came as part of a hosting package... which is probably a sneaky way of a hosting company 'selling' something that's free... but when you lack the knowledge, it's sometimes best to take the easy option :) Thx in advance Lee BPanther
Guest
There are several hosting companies out there that offer osC among their free applications. Mine provides at least 20 free apps for shopping carts, Content Management, Bulletin boards, and a bunch of other stuff. Find your phpMySqlAdmin section on your hosting control panel. It should show up as pretty much just that. Once you are in where the listing of the tables are, find the table that you need to make the changes to. My control panel lists the tables on the left side of the window in a frame. I also have tabs at the top that are titled 'Browse', 'Insert', and a few other things. The easiest way I have found to do this is to select the insert tab, and fill in the values that are listed to correspond with the fields, which should be listed first in the install instructions. After you have everything entered, click the 'save' button somewhere below the fill-in, and you should see your new info added to the table. You admin panel for MySQL may even show you a box letting you know that you have successfully added the information. Hope this helps!
