eNatural Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Hi, I am puzzeled as to why there is no request for a customers Verification Number on the back of their credit card on the Billing Information page? Usually you would have to type in your credit card number, date when it expires and the verification number (3 or 4 digit number on the back of your credit card) I thought this was a standard feature when purchasing with a Visa / Master Card etc....does anyone know the answer to this?
brianstorm Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 oscommerce was developed long before they brought that in... also i think thats uk (or possibly europe too) only and a lot of oscommerce users (& developers) were/ are us based i'm sure it'd be easy enough to add.... i don't use the credir card payment option but if memeory serves me correctly some of the detail is not stored and only sent via email? it'd probably be fairly simple to add the field to the page and email (or to store it) with ten thousand dollars we'll all be millionaires
eNatural Posted September 7, 2006 Author Posted September 7, 2006 Thanks! I wasn't even aware that it was just a UK security feature. I am in the UK, so are you saying that it's not essencial to have it? Most of our customers are in the US where we host the site...Thanks

There is a good contrib which works well, think it is called CVV 1.24 of the top of my head. Have a search for it.
