USPS Action Required by September 30, 2006 ?????

Someone said to just ignore this email from the USPS because osC doesn't use those APIs. Is this true?

Subject: THIRD NOTICE - Important - Action Required by September 30,

2006!

 

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)Implemented for Web Tool APIs

 

Following is our information regarding the SSL Implementation for Web

Tools APIs. If you wish to continue using the APIs listed below, you

must alter your code by September 30, 2006. You will be required to

communicate via https://, instead of http://, for a total of 46 USPS Web

Tools APIs. This change will also require you to change the Web Tools

server called from production.shippingapis.com to

secure.shippingapis.com.

I'd love to hear an answer on this as well. I'm afraid USPS shipping is just going to stop working on October 1st!

A quick search in the forums for +USPS +September returned quite a few hits. Several people have verified directly with USPS that this will not affect OSC. Here is one such post.
