downloads controller can't get link

Man, I am stumped. On Linux, all CHMOD for pub and download set 777/755 have experimented 755 to 777 no luck in tandem with redirect in admin/downloads false and true and every combination thereof, double checked filenames in download with attributes products OK have set product name, shipping options and Instant Download parameters, OK there, sql installed check OK no error codes on cart checkout completes to checkout success.

 

BUT - all I get in "my account" is the default message NOTE: Downloads are not available until payment has been confirmed. I have updated order status every way an no success. Obviously 11 Downloads Now Available is what I tried first - no luck. Tried delivered, and others, still no link.

 

Have tried check with order, paypal, paypal completes, I update in admin/orders to "11 Downloads Now Available" - and nothing in "My Account" except NOTE: Downloads are not available until payment has been confirmed. I am trying to send the buyer a link to a zip file in download folder that does have htaccess in it. If I deaden htaccess then anyone can

 

1. How do I get rid of all my payment options that I use on all orders that I do not want to use with Downloads Controller? I want paypal as the only payment payment option for download orders only.

 

2. What is the fix I need to be looking at to get my download link to show up? Again, I have checked and doublechecked CHMOD in download folder, played with admin/downloads redirect on and off, turned off Gzip compression, tried every tip out there.

 

Thanks to anyone for help. I am about to just blow this off. I spent 6 hours on this last night and now antoher 2 1/2 this morning.
