Hello All,

This section is awesome.. I stayed up till 4am lastnight reading it and here i am back again!

I was just wondering if anyone had any tips on how to get a high rating in googles search engine. For example if someone types in "Leather Jackets" We are no where the top section. Just curious as how to improve this.

What is the main thing to do so we get a better listing. I was reading about the "PR" lastnight is this so important?

Some advice would be appreciated. Just wanted to know what everyone else thinks.

Cheers.

Nice site, very different. :thumbsup:

I would install Header Tags and Ultimate SEO URL's. Work on the number of keyword targeted links back to your site (27 links on MSN, 0 on Goolge), you need thousands and thousands of them. :'( Remove index.php when browsing around your store (see tips and tricks section, might take some digging.)

Also I would get rid of the spash page and move your site to the root directory, it would make is nicer for the customers and easier for the SE's to get to your site.

Spend about an hour a day on links (for the next 6 months), such as from forums that allow links in signatures, google groups, submitting to directories, etc. Keep at that and over time you will see improvements.

Also work on your product descriptions, I looked at a few and there is not much there. SE's LOVE text. :wub:

Header Tags is the one that gives you distinct page titles and keywords for all your pages such as;

<title>My Store</title>

<meta name="Description" content="My sites description or what do we do."/>

<meta name="Keywords" content="keyword1, keyword2, keyword3, etc."/>

<meta name="author" content="www.beancoffeeshop.com"/>

<meta name="robots" content="INDEX, FOLLOW"/>

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"/>

Ultimate SEO URL's gives your pages a more search engine friendly URL such as;

http://www.mystore.com/our-product-p-1.html

Installing both is a good idea. They are in the contributions section and neither is difficult to install. Setting up header tags takes a bit of work to get it correct, but worth the learning experience.
