Moving site to new host with errors

Hi

 

Ok, have been through so many of the posts on here regarding this and have followed all the relevant steps listed by everyone and this is what has happened to me..

 

Site comes up on new host but all the images and format is not displayed correctly. I've been tearing my hair out trying to get this sorted and what we have figured out is that if the DNS has not been changed to the new hosting companies details, these are the errors we get. We have tested logging on to another customers site via their IP address who is using oscommerce and get the same problem. Any idea why this would happen? (I have put the IP address in both the configure.php files).

 

Also, when i click on any item at the front of the store or any of the product sections it goes off to a blank page with the following error message:

 

Not Found

The requested URL /store/product_info.php was not found on this server.

 

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

 

Would this also be caused by the IP address issue listed above?!

 

And then finally (for now <_< ) if i try go to the admin section i get the following error:

 

Fatal error: Cannot re-assign $this in /home/xtremein/public_html/store/admin/includes/classes/upload.php on line 31

 

Same as before, IP address issue maybe?!?!

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Want to make sure that the site is ok before notifying my current hosting company just in case they decide to just cut my current site off from the world... :angry:

Not sure what you're trying to do or what stage of transfer you're at but.....

 

you need to change name server details from your old host to new one (dns)

wait for it to propogate - upto 24 hours they say.

yea i know that needs to be changed but what i am saying is that i want to make sure my site/shop is working properly after the move before i do the name server change. Can't afford to have the shop offline if there are problems

how have you managed to get your site on two seperate hosting systems?
