Scraptastic
When I load stock onto the shopfront the price and that shows up but when I go to the online catalog all the items show up with a 0. could someone please let me know what to do to get this working. Also a warning comes up on the top of the page saying I am able to write to the configuration file:/var/www/html/catalog/includes/configure.php.This is a potential security risk-please set the right user permissions on this file. Could you also tell me what this means. Thanks Toni
Guest
If you haven't already done so, I suggest that you download and print the documentation found on the solutions page. It will guide you through most of the basic set up processes including protecting certain files. You will need to go into your file manager on the control panel for you hosting account to change the permissions and set passwords for certain directories. To change the permissions, you should just be able to click on the file or folder to bring up a info box that will have a section of check boxes that will be headed as 'write', 'read', 'execute'. The numbers referred to in the documentation are actually a combination of the numbers that represent each option. 'Read' is 4, 'Write' is 2, and 'Execute' is 1, so where documentation tells you to set the permissions to 644, you would set the 'user' options to 'Read' - 4 and 'Write' - 2; and the 'group' and 'other' to 'Read' -4 only. The 'user' and 'group' should refer to you (user) and any others with access to your control panel (group). The last listing is your visitors. The tech support for your hosting account should be able to guide you as well. Each control panel is a bit different, so yours may be less or more user friendly than mine. I'm not exactly sure why your items would be coming up at a price of $0 in the catalog. There is probably a post elsewhere in the forums regarding that issue. It takes a bit of time to find things sometimes, but there are a lot of answers to be found. I have found answers to several questions I didn't know I had!
