BlizzardBoy Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 How do I change what it says under information->Shipping & Returns On a stock oscommerce site, Information is found at the bottom left of the screen. You can also find the Privacy Notice, Conditions of Use, Contact Us. I want to know how to edit them all (the screen that appears) The screen says: Put here your Shipping & Returns information. it is found at: http://www.mywebsite.ca/oscommerce/catalog/shipping.php I tried to edit that, but never found the words :Put here your Shipping & Returns information. So, this must NOT be the area that you edit that, right? What do I edit to change it? Thanks, -- Zan

If you are using English, the text will be in the catalog/includes/languages/english/shipping.php file. The same goes for other languages. Martin

DLaceyUSA Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Is there a way to have the ability to modify these pages HomePage Shipping & Returns Privacy Policy Conditions of Use Contact Us from the left side menu? Is there a modification to the code where those pages can be edited from the menu instead having to do it manually? I have another oscommerce website that has the exact same interface except for that difference.. click on the name of the page you want to edit.. it brings up a box similiar to this box we use here for REPLY, SAVE it and it's updated for you on your site. I tried doing a search but didn't see anything that may help me. If I've missed it please accept my apology and if you could point me in the right direction, I'd be ever grateful! Thanks! >M<

mayflor Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Hi, the best way for me is go to your store admin and click your tools. There you can find your Define Languages to edit. May
DLaceyUSA Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 I just clicked on TOOLS and the menu items are: Database Backup Banner Manager Cache Control Define Languages File Manager Send Email Newsletter Manager Server Info Who's Online I then clicked on all the options and received errors on some of them: Most I will search for answers before I post.. but the one I'm not sure of is when I click on FILE MANAGER. It's error message is: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/ourcreat/public_html/cybermall/1201-mandersonsales/6057/admin/file_manager.php on line 183 I'm assuming this is what I should be clicking on to be able to edit the language files? (Again.. point me in the right direction if needed!) <_< TYVM!

I just did some more clicking and under LOCALIZATION, there's "LANGUAGES" I highlighted ENGLISH and clicked on DETAILS. THere is the list of ALL the files to be modified. WHen you click on the file (shipping.php for example) it'll pop up into an edit window, but it's PHP edit, not HTML or WYSIWY edit.. but it's better than having to search for all the files to modify. Since I'm not a PHP whiz, I'm not sure how to get the fonts and colors and sizes etc like I do with HTML, but I'll work it.. unless someone has some wise tips for me! Thanks again! (sorry.. wasn't able to edit original message!)
