jessielsa Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Hi, I need help! I am trying to set up my webshop and keep running into things I don't understand. OK, I have no programming education or experience, so I hope someone here can help me! Where can I find documentation about what the different values stand for? For example, I am trying to set up the display price, and find that I can enter a value there. Only problem is that I have no idea what the "values" stand for. I have tried to select some randomly, but that didn't hepl and today I can't display the price including VAT (keeps displaying it without VAT). Thanks in advance!

Renaissancedavid Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Well, maybe you can lead another Blind >_<, because I don't seem to understand this stuff at all. I just installed osCommerce and am at a general loss. Plz help. You're saying that she can simply add a product and then edit its information as though it were a point-and-click kind of thing. Do I not have the software I need to easily edit the catalogue? Or am I not logged in somewhere? Or what? All I can get to is the default page that tells me it's time to get things rolling. I have set up a log-in, so I've been looking around for that, but I have not found anything special that allows me to log-in and start making all these cool changes I've been reading about. I want to integrate the look of this thing bad, understand some basic HTML, have an HTML editor, and know enough about FTP; I just need a good kick in the right direction...
Andrew Yuen Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Hi David, After you install osCommerce you will need to access your admin folder. After you access that folder you will be able to manually add products. If you have many products I suggest using the Easy Populate contribution. If your admin folder is not protected you will have to A ) use a .htacess file or B ) if you are on a server with cpanel use the password protect directory option.
