dhilden Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Hi, I've successfully installed oscomerce in Xampp and everything worked perfectly for a few days. I recently made a change to ...language/english/index.php. But today I tried to sign into oscommcerce and got the message: Warning: mysql_connect(): Lost connection to MySQL server during query in C:\Program Files\xampp\htdocs\catalog\includes\functions\database.php on line 19 Unable to connect to database server! Anyone got some ideas why I'm unable to connect today? Thanks a bunch DRK
dhilden Posted September 4, 2006 Author Posted September 4, 2006 Check that the admin/includes/configure.php file had data written to it by the install procedure. Check it against the includes/configure.php file to see what should be in it. ok I've opened the files but....what am I looking to compare? Much of the code is different when comparing the 2 folders. dhilden Posted September 4, 2006 Author Posted September 4, 2006 ok figured it out. I was playing around with Norton security and turned it off. This has solved the problem and allowed access It's a big fun maze, this is a great forum DRK
