webmaster2 Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Hello friends, I've been working on this site which is live, yet not fully stocked yet. So some menu buttons are not functional. However, I once did manage to take the path off the "top" breadcumb, but can't seem to do it anymore. Anyone hint me please. Also the borders on the login/create account boxes i would like to remove as well as the ones by the "add to cart" buttons. Thanx in advance for taking a look and your feedback! Rusty :thumbsup: ok,, i like the overall design, (just a few things i would change) the tom tom link, take me some place strange, i would also remove, welcome guest....etc the flash looks nice, but i dont see the benefit of it, (some people dont have flash installed) imo, i like to have the main logo as a hyperlink to the homepage the buttons are stock, the link to the shopping cart on the home page, has no space, its shoppingcart the about us page doesnt exist i would also remove the you are here, ( i like it , but i dont think it should be a link) also, the stock products are still installed and i find them when i search for products with the search tool, im not so keen in the upcoming products at the bottom of the home page (but i guess that will be gone soon) but overall i like the site a lot (how did you get the search bar like you have it)

I didn't mean to say the site was "live", but more as open for review from you guys :) Yes, I am still working on the about us page as well as the buttons. Removing the stock products will also be on the list, as I am removing them as I add my own products. I meant to make the logo a link.....slipped my mind......it was 4am and I had to get up at 6am.......shuda called out from work...didn't do much work that day..... As for the "you are here", i want to remove the link.....and I cant remember how I did it before...Can u hint me where to look at? THE SEARCH BAR: Well, I did it in flash as part of my header. I don't know how to explain it to you, however if you would like I can send u a sample in flash. On the same note: I would like to make the login box the same in flash, but somehow the procedure I used for the search bar does not work with the login box, although by looking at the form properties, it seems similar.... but again, I cud be wrong... Guest Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Love the layout. Looks very clean and easy to navigate. I personally think the 'Welcome Guest..." text is fine but that's just my opinion. An option for you would be to have a 'logout/login' button that indicates logged status. Just a thought. I have flash installed but did not see it..Has it been removed? I am looking for some good ideas for re-tooling my layout and I really like yours the best so far ;)

I may leave the "welcome guest..." but probably will do something else with it.....I gotta think of something yet lol. Yes, you're right about the "logout/login", I'm thinking of an idea.. As far as the flash..well, I don't know if anyone else has done it or whether it is a good thing to do......BUT, the layout is done in flash (but not as a movie). The layout, search bar, menu, buttons (except the stock ones...still need to redo those...probably in photoshop..). Oh yeah, when you go to the product pages, the images are in flash. Except the product info page. Reason I did in flash is cause its much easier for ME to create a design and make boxes, art etc etc... PS. All i used is the sts4 contr. and the image magic, and i think product listing... Let me know if you need help.... "Sometimes doing the right thing isn't doing the right thing"
