How does oscommerce choose what products to display on the main page?

I can't find an option to choose what products are displayed on the front page. I'd like to change which products it displays. For instance I'd like to take the game "Saints Row" out of the rows and columns because I already have it listed in the header.

Are you talking about the New Products section? Otherwise, please advise which section.

 

If it is the new products section, my way is probably not the "official" way, but if i don't want something in there i will simply modify the v_date_added data for that product to an old date so it doesn't display.

This allows you to pick and choose (via Admin) what items are featured on your homepage. It won't pull the product out of it's category to do this - that's not how the store works. Instead it just appears on the site twice - once on your homepage as a Featured Product and once in the category it belongs in.
