♥bruyndoncx
A dutch website quoted a WebSideStory (websidestory.com) report that Q1 2006 conversion ratio for B2C ecommerce sites is 12.61% for return visitors and 1.55% for new visitors. De onderzoekers bekeken in het eerste kwartaal van 2006 de conversieratie van business-to-consumer e-commercesites. Terugkerende bezoekers hadden een ratio van 12,61 procent, terwijl bij nieuwe bezoekers 1,55 procent gemeten werd. source: http://www.twinklemagazine.nl/onderwerpen/...ief.asp?id=6418 Evidently this is a global figure, and if you are running for instance an adwords campaign, your numbers should be higher, but this should give you a pretty good view on where you are on average. So don't sweat it if your average is low, but make sure to keep on improving your site to improve that ratio, and take care of your return visitors and existing customers ! ♥peterpil19
That basically proves the marketing saying that "Selling to a new customers cost 10x more than selling to an existing customer". It's hard to fully understand the significance of conversion ratios without being able to compare than across websites in the same industry.
