I NEED HELP WITH DOWNLOADS!!

Seriously. If anyone can help I would GREATLY appreciated. Let me start off by saying that I've read through the documentation many times. I've also searched through the forums multiple times. Heres what I'm having problems with:

1. I have the "Master Products" contrib installed. I create a new master product, the full length album. Then I create a slave prodcut for the album, a single track. When I look at the products, both the master and the slave are listed. Furthermore, the master product has no sign of the slave product anywhere. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here.

2.Another problem is that when I go to add the song to the cart, it doesn't add anything at all. It says it added something but it doesnt.

3.I can also get directly to the download folder by simply typing in the address in my browser. How can I stop people from directly downloading the music, but still be able to allow them to download once they have paid??

If anyone could shed some light on downloading then I would be utterly grateful. Thanks for reading.

Ok, I realized that some of the contributions that I had installed were conflicting with eachother. I know that there are a few folks here who have made this work for them and I would really love to hear how you did it. I have been working on this non stop for the past week and I just can't get it to work. The contributions I'm trying to use are:

Center Shop

Master Products

Download Controller

osPlayer 2.0

Manufacturer Sales Report

If anyone can help then please let me know. I'm begging here. Please!

Another problem I'm having is with the product attributes thing. What url do I put in for the song? does it automatically look in the download folder or do I need to do the whole 9 such as "http://www.domain.com/catalog/download/blahblah.mp3?

it automatically looks in the download folder (or what ever folder you specified in the configure files).

Also you need to start again with installing contributions.

start with Master Products then osPlayer 2.0 then Download Controller and everything else after that.

first extract master products, you should be able to copy it stright into osc folder. test it to see if its working.

then extract osplayer. start to copy them into the same folder as master products, the ones that conflict you need to carefully merge them together. it should take a few hours to do it properly. once you have those to together test it again make sure everything is working.

when it is keep make a copy of the master products+osplayer merged folder and put it to one side for when you make a mistake whith the next contribution.

do the same for all contributions after that.

Hi Sally. Thanks for your reply. I finally got this working today. I just did a fresh install of osC and installed MP first. Then like you said I manually coded in the osPlayer contribution and it finally works! I ditched the center page contribution and just used CSS (way easier and more flexible by the way). Now the problem that I'm having is that the add to cart button doesn't add any products to the cart. When I click on the add to cart button it just takes me to a page that says "Your shopping cart is empty". Not sure why this is happening. Anyone have any ideas? It looks like the site is finally shaping up.
