Credit Cards............has this been done

Hey Guys

With all the security risks and potential hackers, i for one, am slightly hesitant about setting up cc facilities on my site.

But what i would like to do is still offer customers the opportunity to purchase via CC, however, when it comes to the payment section of the checkout.

They fill out all their CC details and submit it. This is automatically emailed to us and we process the credit card through an online portal or through the machine.

Has anyone done this before

Thanks

OSC already does that.

You can also set a split cc number email address where the middle digits of the cc number will be mailed to ... that way the number in the database only contains the first 4 and last 4 digits. You dont want the whole number visible in the database as their are legal implications.

Not to mention there are a ton of other cc mods to do just about anything you would like in the downloads section.

Where does OSC do that?

I dont want to setup a payment gateway, i want to process the credit card transactions manually through our own machine or online.

But i still want the site to look like you can input credit card details into it

Thanks

As insomniac2 said the default 'Credit card' module that comes built into osc does that - it makes the customer type in their details then snes it to the owner for manual processing. Give it a try and see.
