zc1
Hi, I have installed Ultimate SEO URLs 2.2.2 and then to remove the osCsid from the address I thought I would install SID Killer v1.2b - plus integrate with Ultimate SEO URLs However, I can not find some of the code in the seo.class file that the SID Killer instructions talk about, I have done some of the code in the seo.class file but it has not helped. Can anyone help as I really would like to remove the osCsid from the address Or do I need to downgrade Ultimate SEO URLs to 2.1d by Tornadoburn.com on 8 Dec 2005 ? luxor
You should be modifying your .htaccess to check for robot crawl and to remove the oscid from the url for the robot. for which, there would be no need to install or modify any store files. i have the code laying around somewhere

♥toyicebear
Also there is no need to install the sid killer anymore... (It was basically made for the MS2.1 release) This is what you do to prevent sid's for search engine boots. 1. make sure that your cookie path in includes/configure.php is set correctly. If it is set correctly , when you visite your site you will only see sids in your shops url on the 1-2 first clicks, then they diseapear. 2. In your shops admin under , configuration >> sessions set: Prevent Spider Sessions to "true" This prevents spiders/search engine bots from getting sids in the url when they visit your site. 3. download and use: Updated spiders.txt Now you are set..... If you have gotten urls with sids already indexed by the search engines...the contribution from the post above: Spider Session Remover will help you fix those too. There are so many conflicting post...it is almost upsetting. Your way seems much easier. But what about BUY NOW BUTTONS....does the spider follow that? Or do we not need to worry about that either if we do the following above? I have ultimate seo urls and a bts template....I just uploaded SID KILLER...took me 4 days to find all the code...since it was so outdated. But I found it. I can't even tell if it is working. How do you know if the stupid thing (sidkiller)is working? I just may take it out. This now seems to have been a total waste of time.

If setup as explained, the search engines can reach the checkout pages so that's a non-issue. To test it, there are sites on the web that will simulate a spider and there is also a tool option in FireFox to make simulate one. If you can't see the sid's in those cases, you're all set.
