No stock add to cart??

I have items with 0 in stock showing and the users can still added them to their carts and it also adds the total of the item to thier carts also. How do I fix this so they can not do this or maybe it will add it still but with a message out of Stock sorry and total 0. Or not allow them to check out with it in there cart.

Log into your osCommerce admin. Under "Configuration" look for "Stock" click that and then change those settings to what you need.

Yep did this set allow check out to false but still allows it. Not sure why. Ideas?

Ok works but is there a way to have it so when it takes them back to the cart they get a message on the item out of stock in bold red (OUT OF STOCK) - Please remove from cart to check out. Or better yet do not allow users to add items to cart when stock level is 0.

 

Anyone help out on this or have ideas?
