switching from a 'static' website to a 'dynamic' shopping cart site

I'm wondering if anyone can guide me about how to switch a static website to a dynamic one. The URL is <www.tribescarmel.com>. It's a website for ethnic art, which helps artisans from 3rd world countries make a little money from U.S. tourists/customers. I'm trying to activate the shopping cart for this site. The shopping cart is <www.shoptribes.com>. I'm lost in this region of cyberspace. Thank-you.
