Guest Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Ok, I am a COMPLETE novice, so please play gentle!! I am trying to do some customisation of my site, but have an error message saying the permissions haven't been set or somethingorother. so, in laymans terms, where do i go to set my permissions? Be warned, now that I've started asking Q's, there'll be plenty to follow! :) Thanks Theresa
Jack_mcs Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 If your host has the option in their control panel, you can set them there, usually in the file manager. Or you can set them with an ftp program. Do you know if oyu have either option? Jack_mcs Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Right click on the file and you should see something like permissions or chmod. Select that and a window should popup allowing you to change them. The method may vary with the ftp program but that is pretty standard I think. Jack_mcs Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 The file you want to change permissions on. Probably the includes/configure.php file.
