iam8up
When a customer first signs up and makes an order, they work simply perfect. When the same customer tries to make a second order (or even third, for that matter) the order never shows up in the administration panel. They are still able to use whatever payment module (all have been PayPal) and get the money to me just fine, but the order never does show up. I did modify the/catalog/create_account.php page, however, I don't believe this would effect a secondary order if the first works. All I removed were a couple of the fields (and of course the validity check for them). Not sure what else could cause a problem like this, sounds to me like a bug in the software then something I did - but I have no idea how PHP works =) Thanks in advance! jpweber
Hence the reason it's a mandate you download and install the proper Paypal contribution -- the only one that will get it to work properly: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,2679/ Follow the readme instructions, and install this. IF you do it right, it'll show up in yoru paymen modules in yoru ADMIN. Then go to Paypal, log into your account (you should have a free business account), and go to "profile", then go to "instant payment notification preferences" and make sure it points to your ext/ipn.php file (you'll know what I'm talking about after you install the contrib), and then just go into your ADMIN tool -- www.yoursite.com/catalog/admin, and go to modules, payment, and then just adjust remove the old paypal and install the newly-installed paypal and adjust your preferences there. Then you should be all set to go. Hope this helped. iam8up
Thanks for the reply. I just got around to do that and as far as I can tell it's all setup correctly, though only customers will tell =) As far as the Instant Payment Notifcation php page goes - I found where it was located, /catalog/ext/modules/payment/paypal_ipn/ipn.php , and I put it into my PayPal profile - the problem I have is that the file is rw-r--r-- permissions, so how is this page manipulated? Do I need to change its permissions?
iam8up
I'm wondering what permissions should be on this file, can anyone help me? /catalog/ext/modules/payment/paypal_ipn/ipn.php
iam8up
The IPN doesn't appear to be working - though I don't know what to look for. It just says Preparing (Paypal IPN). I still didn't see any documentation about the permissions of this file.
