PD_Steve Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 I have a similar situation with porting users over from Zen Cart. I think the way I am going to tackle this is by bringing over the name, address and email address and then mailing them to ask them to reset their passwords. My client who owns the site will also be sending them a discount voucher to soften up the process. Apart from that, I am not sure if there is a simple way. The account history will be lost unfortunately, but the old database will be stored for tax purposes and heirarchical purposes Steve My Toolbox: Crimson Editor, Adobe Photoshop CS2.0, Expression Web, Macromedia Suite 8.0, Cinema 4D, Nvu.
Guest Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 I just migrated from my old oscommerce to a new one. Yes, order history is gone because your new prod ids will most likely be different than the old so that wouldn't help much. The tables I copied were: address_book customers customers_info That's it. Just make sure the new table structure is the same as the old and if not make the necessary adjustments to the old one. The passwords migrated just fine (at least the ones I could test afterwards). I used phpmyadmin to download the tables as sql queries so that all I needed to do was upload to the new site through phpmyadmin. NOTE: This was all done on ms2 2.2 so I had no problems whatsoever.
