Have you found a solution for this problem? I am in the same situation and haven't found where this can be changed.

I'm researching meta tags myself and apparently you have to have a contribution installed to do this like Header Tags or cDynamic.

See this thread - http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=200484

Just go to the contributions section and search meta tags and you might find something that will help.

Yes this is what you need to do and I recommend using Header Tags controller.

Backup before making changes. Backup before making changes! Backup before making changes!!

You did do a backup? eh?

Hi there

First thing to understand is that oscommerce does not work like HTML based sites with pages and individually editable metatags etc. How it works is creating pages from a mysql database using a language called PHP which creates the pages on the fly. You can add meta tags to the pages. To do this you need to add one of the metatags contributions. WHich means editing some of the PHP files in the osc package. You will want to back up everthing before you begin including the database which can be backed up in the admin control panel.

Go Admin > tools > backup

Might do you well to spend a bit of time reading up on oscommerce to understand what you are doing before you begin. The learning curve can be steep at first but the rewards can be great and it can be fun.
