Moved to new server - does OsC need reinstalling?

Hi,

 

We've just ported our domain and OsCommerce cart over to a new server. My question is does it need installing afresh upon the new server?

 

In our admin area the Server Info page under Misc reveals an empty box where server info should be, which suggests that it needs re-installing as it can't see our new server? If it does need a reinstall will we encounter any problems installing over the top of the old installation, or will it be easier starting with a completely new fresh installation (we only have a few products at this moment, so copying the details won't be too hard).

absolutely no fresh install is required. Just edit the info in the config files and you are there. You may need to change some stuff depending on PHP version, but this will show itself in the form of errors.
