Please when you view my products, also view the click to enlarge image also. All the errors should be worked out now. Still working on the speed of the site. abra123cadabra
Nice clean template. Couldn't find any information about you or your business. Who are you, what's your physical business address, phone number, which country? Couldn't find any shipping and returns policy or conditions of use. Your privacy policy is only findable from your contact page (this little link about anti spam). If I don't know who I'm buying from, I'll not do it. abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. Feedback and suggestions on my shop welcome. Note: My advice is based on my own experience or on something I read in these forums. No guarantee it'll work for you! Make sure that you always BACKUP the database and the files you are going to change so that you can rollback to a working version if things go wrong. Guest
Ok I added the shipping and returns, conditions, and updated my privacy policy. Added the physical address to the contact_us page. Also for my shopping cart icon in the header i changed it so when your on a ssl page it switchs to a ssl icon to give you a reminder that the page is secure. Also the ssl icon is a link to the privacy page. Check it out to see what I mean and please give me more comments. Thanks
kzod
My only nitpick is you only have one language, and one currency. So, why have boxes for them? Otherwise, nice design. Clean and professional.
Guest
The curreny box I am going to keep for the time being even though I only accept USD. Reason being after I get the ball rolling I want to start accepting CAD. Where did you run across a box for languages?
Guest
Also can someone that has a mac please review that site and see if there are any bugs? IE everything seems to be working fine. FireFox has a small problem with index product listing when your in a sub category. I will look into that tomorrow when I get some time.
sgreiner
Nice site. I have a question. What is your method for getting the 4 items on your mainpage ( the items in the center)? Are the pictures, descriptions and prices pulled from the DB via a query or have you manually put them there within your HTML code? I am looking to do similar on my site. Guest
Everything is pulled from the DB, when I get home I will PM you the code for my index page. Also the 4 products on the index are also random, refresh the page and different items will appear.
Guest
Alright everybody, I believe me store is complete, besides that firefox problem I still didnt get a chance to sort out. Please everybody give my site one last look over, make sure everything is working and complete. And most of all, would you buy from it? If not please tell me why. Thanks everybody for your help. muskokee
And most of all, would you buy from it? If not please tell me why. Thanks everybody for your help. No I wouldn't! I don't even know who you are, how long you've been in business, where you get your stuff---one item said "brand new and original"...is this a concern?? Should I be concerned that you are going to sell me second hand things? There is nothing personal about your template. There is no "you" from what I can see. Sticking a physical address into the contact us page is not enough. You need to tell us about who you are, why your doing this (besides to make money) If that's the only reason..make something up!! Good luck. Sheri

I dont think posting my ugly mug all over the site will gain me any customers. Everyone thank you for your comments so far, please keep them coming. Also I made a change to my product listings. I noticed if my image height is smaller then my SMALL_IMAGE_HEIGHT then my Details and Buy buttons wont line up with the products next to it if they have a different height. So what I did was add pixel_trans.gif with the height of my SMALL_IMAGE_HEIGHT and now everything looks great.
bows2babydolls
Hi street I think what sheri is getting at is there seems to be very little text on the site. Try a wee introduction on the front page or on a about us page, it is always nice to see someone enthusing about the products they sell, makes me think "this guy knows what he is talking about"
abra123cadabra
You'll need to checkout your ordered list in your laser product description. Well, this is not really a design or functionality thing but rather a point towards trustworthyness. First of all, I have a faint clue of what it is your are selling. Let's stick to these lasers for PS2. So let's imagine, mine is broken. I go to your site and find you are selling "brand new and original" ones. This would strike me as odd too. If the product name says it's SONY, I would assume it's new and original otherwise I would expect you to tell me it's second hand or a replacement. So I would get rid of this statement. You could put that on another page about you and your products or the conditions page. Now I see that I have to open my PS2. Wouldn't I loose guarantee on my PS2 if I do that? Ok, let's imagine I checked out prices and to get it repaired by sony would cost much more. Next I ready in your returns policy that you'll not exchange products where the ESD points have been removed but in your product description you tell me I have to remove them in order to install it. I install it and it's not working. Now I can't return it because the points have been removed. Is there any other way (after determining that the model ordered is the right one) to check it is working? If so, point that out somewhere. It's nitty picky and I guess, someone who orders a replacement laser like this knows how to install a new one and how to remove these ESD points etc. but just the combination or your returns policy and the info you give in your product description is not building up my trust that I'll be happy after buying this from you. And you need satisfied customers to recommend you to their friends. abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. Geesh! You asked, and you asked for feedback. I won't post my site on this board. "Welcome to Multe-media ~ your online source for multe-media replacement parts." "Getting you up and gaming with a click!" "We supply replacement parts for ipods, PS2, PSP, Xbox, Xbox360....yada, yada <a> learn more about us>> </a>" which leads to an "about us" page. Stick it above your homepage product list. As abra said, it's all a matter of being trustworthy and right now, your site does not say "You can trust me". Grimmyfrombar
Hello, I know you are probably still working on the site, but i am getting a lot of these "1054 - Unknown column 'p.products_id' in 'on clause' select count(p.products_id) as total from products_description pd, products p left join manufacturers m on p.manufacturers_id = m.manufacturers_id, products_to_categories p2c left join specials s on p.products_id = s.products_id where p.products_status = '1' and p.products_id = p2c.products_id and pd.products_id = p2c.products_id and pd.language_id = '1' and p2c.categories_id = '43' [TEP STOP]" Just letting you know.. Guest
Grimmyfrombar thanks for letting me know about that problem. Problem was because of mysql 5 database. All fixed now, checked the bug reports and now im back in business. Ok my return policy sucks so all of you say, so please help me with this one. The reason I have if the ESD point is removed if wont be returned is because how do I know they are not returning there broken one to me and using the one they bought. So for them its a free laser, because I will send them a new laser and they will just turn around and sell that one. But I do understand the point on if it is a defect, they wouldnt know it unless they removed the ESD Point and installed it. So how can I word it so I dont end up getting the short end of the stick?
