Okay, I'm pretty sure that this site's going live within a week, assuming I get approval from the higher-ups. So before it does, I'd appreciate any criticism that anyone here would like to give me. The more problems I can fix before it goes live, the better.

I didn't go right through but it is apparent you have worked hard. Everything I clicked on seemed to be working ok.

It looks retro but fits perfectly around their logo/banner. At first glance, you definately wouldn't know it is an osC site.

A review wouldn't be a review without some critical comment so, here it is.

You need to redo the rounded corners - IMHO. They all look a bit washy and uneven. The header banner also needs some attention. I would try that again, maybe using anti-alias for the rounded or angle letters. Again, this is just my opinion but, if I were paying for a professionally built site, I wouldn't be happy with those aspects.

Good site though - Well done!

I totally agree with spax. Some of the letters in the logo and certainly the rounded corners throughout the site need to be redone. This irritates me very much.

The design suits the products sold and everything seems to work as it should.

Feedback and suggestions on my shop welcome.

Note: My advice is based on my own experience or on something I read in these forums. No guarantee it'll work for you! Make sure that you always BACKUP the database and the files you are going to change so that you can rollback to a working version if things go wrong.

Thank you both for pointing that out. I'd gotten to the point where I didn't actually notice the layout corners anymore, but they really were awful. I'm working on that now. I thought I had it fixed, but I forgot some weird stuff I'd done to it.

I feel at this point I should probably disclaim the fact that I didn't actually do the design, but just adapted the old design of their layout to osc. Because my design skills are pretty much nonexistent. Just so I'm not getting credit for talent I don't actually have. :-"

Store's now live. I haven't had time to fix the graphics, since I've been busy showing everyone how to use the website, but any other criticisms people want to make are welcome. The address up at the top now redirects to the live site.

Gillian, add a few px of padding to the top cats in the cat box ... they stick too much to the edge of my screen. Congrats on going live, that's always so exciting, right?

another thing I just noticed ... the top navi bar is not centered properly. It's ok on the right but not on the left...

This is just my opinion, but I think there's too much copy on your home page. I don't want a home page where I have to scroll, scroll, and scroll, and keep reading. That's what an "about_us" or other pages are for. I'd keep your main company theme/message in your copy on the home page, and make it as minimal as possible. Then give the end-user an option to learn more about yoru company by clicking on a "more about Nixon-Egli" link or button, or a "Click for our new locations" link or button. I try to keep my home page as minimal as possible in copy, but flashy enough to keep the end-user interested in learning more.

Is Ontario in Canada or California? Is Tracy a girl's name? I know it's not; put "Tracy, California Branch" there or something, just so the end user realizes what it is. I didn't until I read more and more. Then maybe put "Ontario, California Branch" so they both are matching.

Sorry, I'm being a jerk today ... lol

Exellent information on the sales page. If I want something, I know who to contact, that's for sure. Good job. And I like the contact page; you give the end-user plenty of options if they want to contact sometone.

Good job, professional. I didn't notice any typos (which I *always* do). Good luck with your company!

Looks the business!

I'm intrigued by the possibility of putting a crane in my shopping cart but I don't live in the country where this store is located whichever it is. Do people really come along and pick up a $130,000 thingummy and stick it in their shopping cart?
