Guest Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 We're looking for an eCommerce package we can configure to work for distributors. What we need is for customers to be able to oder product using existing account information. In other words they won't be entering credit card information but will be using PO's (purchase orders) based on their billing information etc and shipped product. Can OSCommerce do this? We would need to be able to setup user accounts for current customers with all their info etc. No credit card auth, just a order created on the backend for an admin to look at, approve and process using Customer Service rep etc... Any help would be greatly appreciated.. -Paul
Gil_e_n Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 There's a purchase order payment module that you can use. It comes with a few more features than I really like (I'm not fond of the way it handles the credit limit, to the point where I'd rather remove it entirely), but they're fairly easily stripped out. I don't know what other contributions you'd need, really. In general, you can usually find a decent contribution for almost anything. And if you don't, there's lots of people experienced at coding with oscommerce that you can hire. Always BACK UP your files and your database before making any changes. Before asking questions, check out the Knowledge Base. Check out the contributions to see if your problem's solved there. Search the forums. jpweber Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Paul: In short, "yes", OSC can do this. There are few other options, and OSC is the most viable one. But it will take some patience and learning on your behalf, as well as a heck of a lot of involvement in this forum (asking questions, reading, learning about contributions/modules, etc.).
