Is it possible to remove the checkout facility totally?

I am trying to make a site where I can display all my products, but I do not want to give people the option of purchasing them online.

 

Is it possible to remove the the checkout facility totally and not give people the ability to press on a button to purchase items?

You would need to remove the Buy Now and Add to Cart buttons as well as the Checkout link and any other way you can find to get to the checkout, but it will work.
