Options - Price Update Modify Questions

I have installed the following contribution:

It is working correctly for products with attributes. I would like to modify it to do the following features:

 

1. At the top of the Attributes pull down menus, I would like to have the menu default set to "Select an Option". currently it just picks the default first option.

 

2. I have some products that do not have options. When this happens, I would like the price to display as the "base price".

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
