my store has a text "HEADING_TITLE" in index page,how to remove or change the text and its color?

that is probably a placeholder... the text would usually be defined in /includes/languages/english.php (or whatever languange)....

you'll see lots of placeholders defined in there which allowsfor switching of languages... try defining HEADING_TITLE and see if that fixes your problem

changing the colour etc is achieved by editing stylesheet.css (a good css editor might come in handy)

Color is changed in the CSS file, text is found in either:

includes/languages/english.php

or

includes/languages/english/index.php

i have tried but i don't see anything

just see php echo HEADING_TITLE....in catalog/index.php

and some defining HEADING_TITLE with show "my language text" in my language file

The files included in your /catalog dir are used to determine the design/layout of your website. Your website is showing HEADING_TITLE because the /catalog/index.php file is looking for the text associated with HEADING_TITLE. If you search your /catalog/index.php for HEADING_TITLE you will see something like:

<tr>

</tr>

</table>

Depending on the language you are using you need to modify the file /catalog/includes/yourlanuage/index.php and you will see something like this:

define('HEADING_TITLE', 'Items in this category');

Your website is failing to find the file that contains this information OR it isn't set correctly in /catalog/includes/yourlanuage/index.php

REMEMBER - I don't know what page you are using here so /catalog/index.php or /catalog/includes/yourlanuage/index.php may not be the file you need to modify.

You need to look for /catalog/includes/languages/english/index.php and search for HEADING_TITLE.

The file you need to edit is includes/languages/english/index.php (And also for other languages that you may have) Just above where you write your main site content. i know this cos i just had to change mine.

If that doesn't work check your configure.php files

Are you sure you edit right file on the your web and your changes was applied?

Are you sure what you pasted was the index.php file INSIDE the languages/english folder?
