no order confirmation email being sent

hey everone,

 

i installed the paypal ipn module and have it set for the only payment option.

 

for some reason when someone makes an order, the status is still set as the paypal ipn, and doesnt get updated to "processing".

 

aso, there is no order confirmation email at all. only the email that paypal sends out. this is driving me crazy, and i have no idea how to fix this. i tried searching the forum, but only found 2 posts with zero replies. any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
