SQL file does not exist: /install/oscommerce.sql

Hi

 

I'm having probs installing OSCommerce for Windows with a MySQL database.

 

I get as far as entering the database details, but keep getting the error 'SQL file does not exist: /install/oscommerce.sql'. The file is definitely there. I've tried deleting everything and starting again, but it just won't accept that the file is there.

 

I have tried searching for this error but can't find it (although the search keeps timing out on me so apologies if this has been addressed before).

 

Can anyone help? I've been wrestling patches and errors for most of the evening and could use some help!

OK, I've got past that one by making some changes to the install_3.php file as per instructions elsewhere on the forum and it gets rid of that error and installs the database, but I get all of these errors on the next page:

Clicking on admin brings up the incorrect URL (it does not include the specified 'catalog' folder name). If I correct this to point to the right directory I get the following error:

 

"Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061) in e:\domains\v\visionquest.org.uk\user\htdocs\catalog\admin\includes\functions\database.php on line 19

Unable to connect to database server!"

 

Is it always this much of a head-banging nightmare to install or am I just unlucky?
