TheToe Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Hi, folks. I am doing this kinda bass-ackwards, so please excuse my multiple levels of confusion. A client is purchasing a retail store. The previous owner has a merchant account with Sam's Club for POS sales. Client would like to keep Sam's as the merchant account and also open a web-based shopping cart. I am pretty sure I want to set them up with OSCommerce. Sam's seems to have three e-commerce products: https://www.yourpay.com/internalpages/payme...odes/Start.html I really don't know much about e-commerce yet, and merchant services are still greek to me, but I guess I'll be figuring all this out very soon. :) My question is... given the above, can you tell me which YourPay product the client should buy? They need to set up their POS merchant account ASAP, and they want to buy the e-commerce product at the same time in order to realize a discount from Sam's. So far, I have a GoDaddy hosting account set up. I think that will be sufficient to run oscommerce, but am not sure. I do not currently have an SSL host, and am not sure if I need one. One of the YourPay products looks like it handles all of the SSL side of the transaction (I guess the cart just gets handed off to them and it takes it from there?). Is that an appropriate solution? And which one of those, since there seem to be a few? Sorry that I don't know enough to ask the right questions. Hopefully some kind soul will be patient enough to wade through my confusion and shed some light on it! Thanks!! Quote
