Help With Item weight

:-" I'm in a new learning curve here and I can't be the only one having this problem. I'm having a problem putting in the pounds and ounces in. Some of our products are just onces and it doesn't round the total up to the next pound (0.2 ounces = 1Lb) or (1.2 lbs = 2 lbs) what am I missing?

Can someone help me?

Thanks

Well, if I remember my old Imperial weight measures there are sixteen ounces in a pound - so do weights in ounces e.g. 0.2 would be one fifth of an ounce, 14 would be fourteen ounces, 18 would be eighteen ounces or 1lb and 2 ounces.

Hi Vger,

Thanks for answering my question. I do understand the 16 ounces in a pound the problem is putting the weight in the product discription correctly, and also to get it to round up to the next pound to send that to UPS. I don't know what php calculates for this to happen. Have I missed some step along the way?

Thanks for your help

The weight unit in osCommerce is whatever you want it to be. You just have to be consistent in applying it. There is only one text reference in osCommerce to 'lbs', so if you do a search of the osCommerce folder on your own computer, using the Find In Files feature of Text Pad you will locate 'lbs' and can change it to whatever you like.

Thanks Vger,

We just figure out my problem! The osC sends to ups 1.3 lbs and ups rounds it up to the next lb to rate the package. OSC checkout shows the 1.3 lbs total but the ups pricing rate is on 2 lbs. If I could have only figure that out 3 weeks ago. I would still have some hair on my head. It confuses you seeing the 1.3 lbs instead of 2 lbs. Viola, I guess I needed my husband's brain to sit down and look at this with me.

Thanks again,
