I have installed oscommerce in the past with very little trouble. This time it does not want to work. I have tried it twice and both times I end up with both Configure.php files completely empty. (size = 0) That shouldn't be that way, should it? What am I doing wrong and how can I correct this?

Thanks

I had a similar problem in which my configure.php file didn't even show up at all in the admin/includes folder. It was the fourth installation before this was installed properly and then I had to go back in and edit the database connection information. Maybe someone else can give you more tips, but I'd suggest just trying it again.

Good luck!

If the file size is zero kilobytes then the ftp upload was corrupted - because even a file which has had no data written to it by the install procedure should be 1.88Kb for the catalog/includes/configure.php file and 2.03 Kb for the catalog/admin/includes/configure.php file.

The usual culprit is an FTP programme like Cute or Smart FTP or Dreamweaver's FTP client.

Use either WS FTP or FileZilla and you should be okay.
