Auto print of order-advice/packing-invoice

can anyone help please .. we have trawled the forum for this and need help on Auto print of order-advice/packing-invoice ... is it possible that once a customer has placed an order it can automatically be printed to a printer and then someone just go pick the order and box-ship it rather than have knowledge etc.. of the OS commerce package ! as we are only a small company and cannot really afford to have someone just sitting there awaiting for an order.

 

and then have access to everything that they could mess with of course.

See you asked this in 2006 but didnt get any replies - did you solve the problem as i am in the same situation - site is online but want to configure a printer so orders will print directly to it.

Think there are two problems here - first to setup the physical printer so it is always connected to the internet and the IP address can be found and then the php code needed for OSC so that when order is created, it can trigger the print_invoice page and send to printer.

2. admin -> My Store -> Send Extra Order Emails To

3. Setup mail account on the phone and have it check every 5min.

1. Get http://auto-print-email.fyxm.net/ (or something like that. Havnt tried this program, just did a quick google)

3. Setup the email account in the program

Doesnt have to be so fancy ;-)

 

The fancy way would be exporting orders into CSV files and making invoices and packing slips automatic. I spent 3 hours yesterday making something like this, tho i need to manually export the orders from the website and on to my comptuer. (Two clicks!)

You can't do it from the shop side when the order is created because the printing would be done on the customers printer. I think the way to do it automatically would be to write a script for admin that loads the orders and prints those that haven't been printed. Then start a cron job to run that script every-so-often.
