Can anyone explain this to me?

I had my site up and running (only had one item listed was still tweaking graphics/text) and the categoryies and items were showing up fine.

Now, they are getting mixed up with another site another user has on my server. Is it possible that we have the same database name (db1) and that is causing havoc with the categories?

Is it possible to easily change the database name once the store has been installed? I dont want to lose days worth of work, but I also dont want to spend days finding the error.

Thanks in advance for your help!

If you did a backup of files and database data, the solution would be simple.

1. reinstall with a new database name (if possible)

2. replace new install with your tweaked files

3. restore your database to what you know to be good.

If it keeps happening its something in the server software I would imagine.

If this is YOUR server that you own, double check what database info that other user is utilizing and you will know for sure.

The question is not, 'to code, or not to code'

the question is, 'if we do not code, are we really alive?'

Well, after reinstalling and going through my changes slowly I have discovered it was an issue with the configure.php file.

I havent looked into what line was messed up but I can tell you, this was the file that was causing the issue.

I think the category problem was a cache issue as they did have different names on the server.

Thank you for all your help!
