Trying to move Product images

Apparently 'easypopulate.php' and oscommerce is designed for all of the product & category images to be placed in the 'images/' directory.

I knowin the 'configure.php' file, the 'images/' directory are defined using; define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/');

 

My reasoning was to keep the different categories grouped in different directories for easier managing of myb designs.

I didn't want all of the files in one directory ... let's say, I didn't want any more 'mydesigns' in the 'designs/' directory, I could easily remove just that directory. But with them all grouped in one directory, its more difficult for me to manage. I can only type with one finger, due being a Quadriplegia (spinal cord injury) which makes it slow for me to do much typing. I have looked at easypopulate.php script and require('includes/configure.php') needs to be revised and maybe more.

Can anyone help me if this can be done and what variables would I need to change?
