Product Notifications

I am struggling to understand exactly hpw these work. I have found the part in the newsletter manager where you can select product_notifications but how do you link that to a specifiic product.

 

In the catalog people can select to click on certain products and not others so how do I tell them about changes to specific products?

 

I am sure I am missing something here.

I am still looking for help on this, the documentation says as follows:

 

 

however the target audience needs to be defined for the product_notification module where the administrator must select which products the newsletter is in relation to so that customers who have selected to be notified over certain product updates can receive the newsletter.

 

 

any help with people who use notifications would be helpful, I like the idea of this but don't know how to use it.

I don't know where you're getting that documentation, but from what I understand, the customer chooses to sign-up for newsletters when he registers and can change that in his My Account area.

Hello,

 

I was using the same documentation as that.

 

I know what can be acieved from the users point of view and am very impressed with that, but how do I send them information on specific item if they have requested it.

 

I must say at this point that this might be very clear to other people but I did add a modicication that meant I can approve reviews (important I think) and I am not sure if this screwed my product notification stuff in the admin area cos I ain't got a clue!

 

Tell me how it works your end and I'll know if I can do that or not here!
